Thanks for Skating By Alex's Party

Alex is loving her new ice skating lessons and wanted to celebrate her 8th birthday with an ice skating party with all of her friends.

I'll spare you the details of how difficult the SDRC personnel were to work with and just share photos of this cute party.  A very special thanks to Anna, Lida, Shelby and Brynn because this party would have been a box of pizza thrown on the table without them.  We had been promised 30 minutes to set up but instead were allowed into the room right at 6 p.m. (the same time the party started.)  Here you go.

We served pizza, Jones soda (note the darling labels Darren made for the soda--they said Thanks for Skating By Alex's Party,) and crazy bread.  The candy bar was the equivalent of a favor bag (that was per Alex's request--my kids love candy bars.)
And, the hit of the night (thanks Michelle Darrington for the idea) was the hot chocolate bar.  Those little bowls are full of special marshmallows, candies, etc. to be stirred into the girls' hot chocolate.  They loved this idea!  And yes, that is an orange football cooler.  Thanks for the idea, Brynn, of covering it in fabric.  Very classy!
It was a great night, and Alex's little friend Kirah said it was the funnest party she had ever been to.  High praise.  I just wish we had gotten some cute pictures of the girls skating and especially Alex in her "ice skating outfit."  Whoops!
