Ice Skating Extravaganza

Megan decided to give me a bit of a break this weekend so took Henry with her.  Just what Megan needs since there is a real shortage of little ones at that house!  Henry was crazy excited.

I think that backpack is at least as big as him.

It worked out really well because Alex had her ice skating extravaganza at the Rec Center.  I had never been before and am now bummed thinking of all the years I missed this event.  It was pretty interesting.  Alex skated as part of her skating class, but the program was pretty eclectic and very long.

They had small children, teenage girls who seemed pretty serious about ice skating, several handicapped adults who skated, a family who skated around playing violins and trumpets and in some cases grown woman wearing rented skates and jeans skating around the rink to Jingle Bells or Pat-a-Pan.  Apparently the show is made up of classes from the rec center and then various members of the public who sign up and pay a small fee.  Just in case your dream was always to skate in the Olympics, here's your chance to shine.

So, without further ado, here you go.  It's Alex in March of the Wooden Soldiers.

If you can't pick her out, she's the one in the huge poofy skirt bossing the other skaters around.  She told me that Holly made her the leader, and she took that job very seriously!

She is her mother's daughter after all.
