Happy Holidays

I have been MIA blogging because I haven't felt well and have been crazy busy.

It was a good weekend.  We had the ward Christmas breakfast on Saturday.  The older girls were in the choir and rang their bells.  Henry was a cow.  Addison wasn't old enough to participate, but she was so jealous that one of the primary workers gave her donkey ears.  That was just enough to make her happy.

Of course, during the beginning choir part, she ran up on stage and posed for everyone.  I couldn't do much about it since I was supposed to be helping my new primary class with their bells.  I can never figure out how she loves being the center of attention.  Whose child is she?

The nativity was very sweet with those cute littlest kids playing the parts and the older kids singing in the background.  Very nice.

I spent the rest of the day sort of cleaning but mostly lying around while all of the kids played with their friends.  Kind of boring, but I needed the rest.

This morning sweet Anna and Lida came over and took the kids to church so I could rest.  Really, I think Anna is probably about the best friend in the world.  Of course it couldn't be uneventful, so Alex ate a stale Starburst and pulled her entire crown out.  Awesome.

Anna stayed the full 3 hours for heaven sakes and then left to attend her ward.  Nothing like 6 hours of church.  Thanks for being my friend, Anna!  Maybe one day I'll deserve you.

I rallied later in the day and made a real dinner of ham, cheesy potatoes, pretzel Jell-O and rolls that no one would eat.  This is why I don't cook.  I enjoyed it, but that was a lot of work for two people to eat (Henry will eat anything.)  They all ate toast which apparently tastes better than that.

We ended the night by driving around to see Christmas lights while listening to Christmas music.  It was so nice, the first really Christmas-y thing we have done all year.  Addison kept pointing at houses without lights and saying, "Turn your lights on, house."  Bossy-bossy.

We drove through the Layton Park, and I took the baby out of her carseat because the line was moving at probably less than 1 mile/hr.  She kept pointing to everything.  Her vocabulary amazes me on a daily basis.  "Look, Mom, a caribou!"  I think it was a moose, but still.

And, there you have the most boring post in the history of posts.  I just tucked everybody into bed, and that DVR'd TV is not going to watch itself.  As I went to tuck Addison in, she picked up her panda from her Calico Critters set, laid it in its tiny bed and said, "Good night, I wuv you, see you in the morning."  Then, she pointed her bossy little finger at him and said, "Go right to sleep."  I wonder who she got that from.

And just because I can't do a post without a picture, here's a snowman photo from last year.
Where does the time go?  I know this was only one year ago, but they seem to have gotten so much bigger.
